Jason Franco is on a mission. The Back Bay High School junior has a clear vision for his future, and he’s putting in the work to make it happen. Despite facing setbacks in his academic journey, Jason is determined to graduate, enroll in trade school, and eventually land an apprenticeship as an electrician at Disney.
Jason, who has two older brothers, Rene (23) and Josue (22), is working hard to be the first in his family to earn a high school diploma. His path to Back Bay was not an easy one—he fell behind in credits due to a lack of focus in class. But instead of giving up, Jason took the opportunity to turn things around. He now plans to graduate by the end of his junior year, proving to himself and his family that dedication pays off.
“I know I have to focus on school, graduate, get into trade school, and then earn an apprenticeship,” Jason says. He is especially drawn to working as an electrician at Disney because he has heard they offer competitive pay and great opportunities for growth.
When he’s not focused on school, Jason enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to rap and Spanish music, and, above all, staying out of the house. “I love not being home!” he admits with a laugh. However, his ultimate goal is to build a stable life for his family. For Jason, happiness means having a “perfect” family—one without struggles. He understands that achieving this dream starts with his own success in school and his career.
Jason Franco’s journey is one of resilience and ambition. With his eyes set on the future, he is proving that with focus and determination, anything is possible.
